When going around the Disney World complex, it does feel like a separate city in itself, as if in its own bubble from the rest of the world.

Until recently, Kissimmee was a rather residential community that bordered on St. Cloud, another rural central Floridian town. With urban development, the town has become increasingly more geared towards tourists.
The town of Kissimmee is about 25 minutes from Walt Disney World or Universal Studios, and 45 minutes to an hour from Downtown Orlando.
Kissimmee is a great place to find cheap accommodation when visiting the theme parks.

Had the opportunity to stay in a VIP suite for a special event. The room had all the amenities to be expected, was always very well kept by housekeeping staff and provided a comfortable sleeping environment. The staff were all quite friendly. Our convention was held onsite because the place is HUGE! Also, the outdoor pool area is enormous and provides two pools, games, a "lazy river" and more. Convenience store supplies Starbucks coffee and snacks and a couple restaurants are also available.

In my opinion: I had a awful experience checking in this past week for a convention. I politely asked for a quiet room away from vending machines and not across from the elevators. After checking the map 5 times, receptionist assured me I was at the end of the hall. After getting to the floor, it was quickly apparent that I was right next to the elevators. I don't know if it was her idea of a sick joke or what. I hope we can move the convention next year. 3/12/17

Great experience. Slept very, very well, in one of the environmentally friendly rooms. Restaurant choices could be better but were already better than many hotels. Pool was down for cleaning and maintenance, but for one day only. I will stay here again when visiting Orlando for conventions.

This hotel is very nice. The amenities it has are unbelievable. Make sure you make time to check out all of the activities like the basketball court, volleyball, golf, swimming, and other things. The rooms are spacious and clean. On top of all this, you're in Orlando, so enjoy your stay!

Comfortable stay, good service, decent rooms, strange hallway decor... would stay again! That said, the in room meal was ridiculously sized... Quality steak can be expensive but for $30 I sure would think they could at least fill my plate with broccoli and butter! Make no mistake, it's a nice hotel and I'd probably stay again. Just be cautious about the in room food service.

JRaskinFor my 40th birthday, one of my dearest childhood friends came to Orlando with her young son. She stayed at the Hilton Orlando. I live just north of all the excitement in Orlando so we spent one day of her stay running around theme parks and the next day, my husband and our young daughters (ages 5 and 2) indulged in some prime relaxation at the Hilton Orlando pool area. The pool area is absolutely spectacular. If my friend hadn’t been a registered guest, we would never have been able to enjoy a perfect Florida day here. At the main resort pool, we loved the zero-entry swimming pool. Since my girls are new to swimming, it was nice that we could wade in together as though we were walking into the ocean from the beach. Our older kids loved the winding water slide. I include my husband in the kid count here. I think he went on it more than my older daughter and my friend’s son combined. I went once and got water up my nose. I think that at 40, I’m better suited to splash in the pool, float down the lazy river, or order an abundance of drinks from the pool bar. Our experience with Tropics Pool Bar & Grill was wonderful. Our server was friendly and came by often to make sure we had full cocktails. We also customized our food orders and he made sure to get everything perfect for us. The food was delicious though being at a Hilton, it’s a bit expensive. Since it was for a special occasion though, we overlooked the prices for the day. Since I had my children with me, I couldn’t go into the quiet resort pool. It looked like a fantastic place to escape the children at the hotel though. It’s a private pool that is sectioned off from the main pool and is reserved for adults only. However, all of us adored the lazy river. It was so nice to float down it and forget about everything else in the world. To me, floating down the lazy river with a drink in my hand while my husband was stuck watching the kids was the most fantastic experience. Before returning to our own home, my friend gave us the key to her room so we could change into dry clothes and get the kids ready for the car ride. It was lovely and vast, with modern yet comfortable-looking furniture. The bathroom was luxurious and from the few moments we spent in there getting ready to go, I wished we could stay there. The staff that we encountered while spending time with my friend was incredibly pleasant and accommodating, even when my oldest daughter threw a fit because she didn’t want to go home. We’d all love the chance to go back sometime. The only downside is that parking for those not staying as guests in the hotel is $20. Thanks to my friend, we were able to avoid that charge, but it seems a steep price to pay for parking your car no matter how incredible this hotel is.
