        • This is a great place to grab a bite to eat or a drink. The food is excellent and the selection of drinks, including beers (they have their own microbrewery) and wines is well thought out and selected. Very friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere additionally contribute to make this a place well worth a visit for anyone in the area.
        • We spend a lot of time in the High Street Merchants and probably eat more cake and drink more coffee than is strictly good for us. But there is a good reason for that and it's a combination of the cafe/gallery being a great place to sit and meet friends and have a chat and the fact that the food and coffee is excellent. Apart from the home made cakes (try the Espresso cake), they sell lots of other things, such as great soups, massive tasty cheese scones, bagels with lovely salads and served with things like venison, smoked salmon or cheese. The owner and staff are really friendly and welcoming. I live in Grantown and don't know what I'd do without the High Street Merchants. Highly recommended
        • Best espresso ever and I'm talking about the cake... Great little spot to sit and chill
        • The High St Merchants is one of my favourite places. From the lovely welcome you receive as you enter, to the amazing food, homemade cakes, real coffee and fabulous service. Donna and Colin have delivered something very special in the area. An added bonus is the tasteful artwork on display and the lovely gifts on offer. We're really looking forward to tasting their new Spey IPA and No.74 brews. My only complaint is that we're not able to visit more often.
        • Stopped off here for a quick coffee just before closing, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. The coffee was bloody good and reasonably priced too!

        • Eyes bigger than my tummy!
The first time I visited this cafe, I was, unusually, on my own and had some time to myself. I had a book and thought I would treat myself to lunch. I received a warm welcomed and managed to squeeze in as they were really busy with groups and couples having lunch. I looked at the menu and was torn between the soup, savoury bagel and cake, so I decided to have all three. Oh, and a big coffee. The soup arrived and it was delicious, the bagel arrived and it was huge. I was beginning to regret the cake order. However, I managed to eat it all and didn't bother with dinner that night! The cake choice was difficult as they had such a variety.

The cafe has beautiful artwork on the walls by local artists and other gifts for sale. The seating is very comfortable and it's the type of place you just want to sit, relax and chill out. I did feel that I couldn't do that as it was so busy!

The cafe is open in the evening, serving a different menu but you need to book well in advance to get a table. It's not the type of place you go in with muddy boots or cycling gear, it's a bit more upmarket. Think ladies who lunch!
