  Smaller than Bogota and situated in the Aburrá valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains, Medellín is one of the newest and most modern large cities in South America.   Medellin is known as the City of Eternal Spring: the average annual temperature is 22ºC (72ºF) and because of its proximity to the equator, its temperature is constant year round with minimal temperature variations. Temperatures range from 10ºC (52ºF) to 30ºC (86ºF).
  
  The street food is great in Medellin. Clean and fresh, arepas are a diet staple. Try them with butter and salt, or try a traditional arepa with churrizo, pork rinds, guacamole and beans. Also look for the local dish, the Bandeja Paisa, a plate of, well, everything.
  
  The city is full of beautiful parks. World famous artist Fernando Botero is a native of Medellin and the city is proud to dedicate a park displaying some of his works. Most parks have works of art or a noticeable theme and will at various times of day or weekends will be filled with visitors and are fun places to watch people.
  
  Medellín has plenty of nice taxi drivers and the only metro system in Colombia, both of which can take you where ever you need to go in a quick, safe and inexpensive manner.
  
  Take a Chivas around the city at night! Chivas are party buses that drive around the streets. They are loud and a fun way to party around with your friends.
  
  In Medellín, there are plenty of options for the nightlife. From clubs, bars, trendy restaurants, cafes. Most clubs are situated in Parque Lleras in the wealthy area of El Poblado, but for a real Colombian experience check out Carrera 70 in the Suramericana/Laurales neighborhood.   The hotel is in good condition, the room is clean and in complete. The noise in the business nights around is anecdotal and not uncomfortable. The service is unbeatable, all the staff are very attentive, including the Nutibar. The only mole is the rat plague that has the parking lot. Parking is an adventure. When you find yourself in the center, you see all kinds of things, in the surroundings, but I reiterate that the Hotel is good and the price is affordable. El Hotel esta en buen estado, la habitación es limpia y en completa. El ruido en las noches de los negocios alrededor es anecdotico y no incomodo. La atención es inmejorable, todos los empleados son muy atentos, incluyendo los del Nutibar. El único lunar es la plaga de ratas que tiene el parqueadero. Parquear es una aventura. Al encontrase en el centro, se ve todo tipo de cosas, en los alrededores, pero reitero que el Hotel es bueno y el precio es accesible.

  Terrible place! Never go to that hotel! There is delinquency everywhere, breakfast is very rickety and ugly, the rooms old and also old. We were told that it was a 5 star hotel but now it has become one of the most dangerous in the area. No matter how far in front is one of the most important museums in Medellin never stay there! We fall there because we trust with our eyes closed in our travel agency, but even to them we already send them email to explain to them that that hotel must leave of the proposals of its agency because they expose us too! By mentioning something: we lowered our bags to the hotel when we saw in 15 minutes 3 rounds; 2 of them the victim was walking and the racer took a knife and left him injured, and the third, the victim was in a taxi and from there the racer wanted to steal. Zero recommended. The hotel's are friendly, but the area is scary. Pésimo lugar! Nunca vayan a ese hotel! Hay delincuencia por todos lados, el desayuno está muy raquítico y feo, los cuartos viejos y también viejos. Nos platicaban que antes era un hotel de 5 estrellas pero ahora se ha convertido en uno de los más peligrosos de la zona. Por mucho que enfrente esté uno de los museos más importantes de Medellín nunca se hospeden ahí! Nosotros caímos ahí porque confiamos a ojos cerrados en nuestra agencia de viajes, pero incluso a ellos ya les enviamos correo electrónico para explicarles que ese hotel debe salir de las propuestas de su agencia porque nos exponen demasiado! Por mencinar algo: bajábamos las maletas al hotel cuando vimos en 15 minutos 3 asaltos; 2 de ellos la víctima iba caminando y el ratero sacó un cuchillo y lo dejó herido, y el tercero, la víctima iba en un taxi y desde ahí el ratero quiso robarle. Cero recomendable. Los del hotel son amables, pero la zona está de miedo.
