      • Redondo Beach
This is a beach community along the southern California coastline. The Pacific ocean is the western neighbor and thus there are many surfing beaches, even though the waves are not very big. Summer temperatures are generally into the eighties daytime and fifties in the evening with a breeze off the ocean beginning in mid afternoon. Winter temperatures drop to only the forties and fifties daytime and the mid forties in the evening.

Pacific Coast Highway runs through Redondo Beach. Housing costs are quite high in this beach community and especially near the beach you will find multi-story apartments and condominiums. The main parts of town are old by California standards, being built in the early 20th century. You will find this to be mainly a residential community.

Redondo Beach has a wonderful pier to enjoy walking, fishing or just people watching. Best part of the pier, it's not the normal straight out into the water pier. It triangles with restaurants situated on the pier. It also has an arcade... but the best part of this pier is during crab season when you can purchase crabs or lobsters from the dozens of tanks and just pig out!!

        • It's certainly not the most beautiful airport form US. However, it's well planned and after the latest reformation, it is easier to go from one place to another. The food is pricey in some restaurants. The fast food restaurants the price is almost the same, little difference. It became less boring when the new terminal opened. There are more stores and restaurants. Your gate might be changed with no warning so make sure to be always paying attention to the screen from your gate to see if it changes and as quickly as possible find the new one. After all it's a good airport, common, with little entertainment but clean.
        • Hate to be negative, but I've been to airports all over the country and this was the dirtiest, slowest, loudest, rudest, and most chaotic I've ever been to -- by far. Plus, there was much less food and drinks than most other airports have, and what they had was insanely overpriced. I spent about $25 to get the minimal amount of food that I could usually get at an airport for $10. And I had to wait about 30 minutes to get it. Not to mention they gave me fried fish instead of fried chicken, but by that point I didn't think it was worth it to go back. And I also had to wait an insanely long time for the security screening. Some of the people there were very nice, but there are also a few who were very rude. For example, I saw one woman who was waiting very patiently for her food, and they just kept ignoring her and telling her to "settle down" (which seemed like a weird thing to tell someone who was being perfectly polite). Yet the people who ordered after her were able to get their food and leave without her ever getting hers. I actually stayed with her because it was so outrageous. It was like she was being gaslighted. It went on for about 20 minutes /after I got my order/ - which I had ordered some time after she had made her order. As time went on it occurred to me that maybe the reason they were being disrespectful and unhelpful to her was because she was black. Because they were super polite and friendly to me and everyone else who ordered, but when they addressed her they seemed to immediately switch to being rude. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen in the Northeast or Pacific Northwest. Definitely seemed like they were taking out a petty racist grudge, because I couldn't see any good reason for it. I worry that if I didn't back her up when she confronted them about how long it was taking, would they have ever given her the food that she had already paid for? Hard to imagine that happening, but it would have been hard to imagine what did happen. It was downright bizarre. I say it only because it exemplified the experience I had at the airport. It was weird, uncomfortable, somewhat rude, dirty, and generally unpleasant. It wasn't a disaster, but it was certainly the worst airport I've ever been to - and I've been to more than a dozen.
        • We enjoyed an extended layover in Las Angeles at the airport so I had the opportunity to capture a few photos. We were in the Southwest Airlines section and that part of the airport was under renovation and construction so it was chaotic. Fortunately there have a number of phone charging areas with comfortable chairs and tables so we were able to enjoy a bit of people watching.
        • No porters will help you unless you have first class tickets. Bring someone to help with luggage. The carts fit three large suit cases and cost $5. Two parking lots at the International flight area (Tom Bradley) are connected at the top floor which is usually empty. Get closer to your terminal there. A couple items on the menu plus drinks runs $45 at the sandwich shop outside the boarding area.
        • Terrible and poorly designed airport for consumers. It appears they spent more on the looks rather than a well thought-out design. Airport is heavily congested which includes the traffic. Uber is an average 30-45 minutes if your 4 miles away. Driving and self parking is about 45-1 hour +. The airport roads are poorly designed and funnel pacific highway and airport traffic into one causeway! Depending on airlines checking can be anywhere between 15min - 45 min. I would recommend another airport if you don't want to be inconvenienced with overly burdensome delays! The airport needs to focus on public transportation such as a trolley or tram and create a number of parking lots areas for passengers to come to airport!
