  True, Hollywood is arguably the most shallow and celebrity focused stretch of land in the entire world (though certain corners of Mumbai might beg to differ), but it’s also one of the most inspiring corners of the states, with a night out on Sunset Boulevard or star spotting down Hollywood Boulevard in the blazing sunlight feeling somehow more special than a night out anywhere else. There’s a palpable sense of excitement about the place, with everything from legends like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Motley Crue to drag acts and celebrity focused drug dealers focusing their life around Hollywood’s three main thoroughfares.
  
  Aside from watching the filming of occasional TV shows, there’s plenty else to do in the Hollywood area: drift down the Walk of Fame, drop in on the wax museum or catch a future star at the infamous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Step away from celebrity and indulge in a bit of science, with the Griffith Park Observatory, or go star spotting amongst the mansions of Mulholland Drive.
  
  Of course, downtown LA, the beaches and Universal City are all a mere stones throw away from central Hollywood, and you’d be mad not to incorporate the super city into any trip, too. Bikini clad beaches, manic parties, rock and roll and money, money, money are all just part of the experience.
  
  Many come here with nothing in mind but fame, while others come just to get their own taste of how the other side lives. Whatever your reasons, you’re sure to enjoy your moment somewhere near the spotlight, and come away dreaming of a Hollywood life.

• West Hollywood

  Known as the gay capital of Los Angeles, West Hollywood contains the most famous area of Southern California nightlife, the Sunset Strip, as well as parts of Santa Monica and Melrose Blvds. Famous stops along the strip include the Chateau Marmont, House Of Blues, Viper Room, owned by Johnny Depp, Whiskey A Go-Go, the Roxy, and other music and comedy venues.
  
  The West Hollywood’ north side is surrounded by the Hills of Hollywood area of the state Los Angeles, and the east side is surrounded by the region of Hollywood Los Angeles, on the west by the city of Beverly Hills, and on the south by the Fairfax District of Los Angeles. As of the 2007 census, the city had a total population of 34,675. West Hollywood is also known for its expensive housing.
  
  On the eastern end of the strip you will also find many (expensive) restaurants and (even more expensive) shops/boutiques.

  The place was really clean and cheap. They have done some upgrades so it is nicer than I thought. I was pleasantly surprised with the rooms. My only complaint is that the parking is not the best so find a spot early!

  We stayed for 3 nights in August 2016. The room was clean, but when it says economy it means economy. 1 pillow per person, ( I had to fold cardigans up to put under my pillow.) 1 flannel and 1 very very very small thin bath towel, also1 ply toilet roll. we never saw any room service, I didn t even know there was any. We had to go ask at office for towels, and they begrudgingly brought us 1. We had to hang our towels up after use every day to dry them off for next time. We had to use carrier bags to put our rubbish in because with no room service turning up we had to put it somewhere.Also would have been nice to have a microwave to warm food up as well as a kettle to make a drink with in the morning, as there was nothing laid on for breakfast there. Apart from that, it was central to everything. We didn t have a car luckily as there weren't many parking spaces.

  Economy Inn Hollywood is a centrally located motel for the lowest price in Hollywood. The rooms are large and clean, single rooms have king size beds and a mini refrigerator. Every room also has a closet that is large for a motel. This is not a fancy place and some people probably don't want to stay in this part of Hollywood, but there are several stores and restaurants within a quarter mile. For the lowest price in Hollywood you get more at Economy Inn than most low price motels.

  My stay here in 2011 was the worst experience ever. Dirty room, all tagged and broken. Even the bible looked like a vacuum cleaner bag was opened above it after someone dunked it into cola... seeing the recent good reviews here i hope they really improved...

  The room was clean enough, cable had best lineup I've seen at a hotel. But the only thing I'll remember about it is the lack of parking and indifference in customer service. I didn't have a place to park and when I went to the lobby to ask if I could park behind another car like I saw others were, nobody came out after ringing the bell for 10 minutes. Will not be visiting again.
