• Eugene

  Eugene is a lovely little city about two hours from Portland. It is very green, with many beautiful trees and plants throughout. It rains frequently throughout the fall, winter and spring, but then experiences approximately three months of sunshine and agreeable temperatures. It also feature massive mountains that are breathtaking, even in cloudy weather.
  
  The food is great, and most places serve organic and all natural cuisines. You can easily get the freshest and most succulent food and beverages. They do this by not only stressing the importance of organic/natural movement, but also that of purchasing their food from local sources.
  
  You will also notice that in staying true to this town's progressive nature, it has followed suit with Portland in stressing the importance of limiting the use of vehicles through a very bicycle and pedestrian friendly atmosphere/roads.
  
  They have fun parks you can hang out at or even picnic along the river and laze around. It's a really relaxing and mellow place to be! It's definitely a great place to "get away from it all". There is a general "hippie" feel to the place, and also a college town vibe as Eugene is home to the University of Oregon Ducks.

  I live in this City. I needed to stay somewhere for one night. I stopped at the first one I saw. The huge gap under the door while the temperature outside was freezing was almost impossible to compensate for. The bolt lock on the door didn't work. The free wifi never did connect. I called back and they told me I must be doing it wrong. I talked with them while I tried to connect. It didn't work. The bathroom sink dripped all night long. The pamphlet in the room was mangled and should have been replaced. It had foreign matter smudges on it. They spent money on a bed tray to hold remote and literature but not to weatherproof. I asked for two extra blankets. I had to follow him to a storage closet and he only gave me one. I barely slept. I didn't even use the shower.

  Safe in middle of big city... Very nice staff. Cute room. Only complaint was carpet needed cleaning--- I was sure happy to feel safe and the beds and bath were very clean (no clue about carpet making bottoms of my feet black...but it washed off fine)

  It was old and dated which was really no problem. The problem was that it was filthy. The staff was very friendly. I just can't wrap my head around a place being dirty

  The overall cleanliness of the room is what makes this a 2 star rating. There were several bugs in our room, on the walls and curtains. There was dirt all over the walls/doors and dust was built up. Even for the budget friendly price it was not worth the stay. If the room had not been so dirty this would be a 4 star rating as the outside property and the front desk was very nice.

  Nice quaint in am older older motel. Close to downtown Eugene and within walking distance to nice eateries. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms have all the amenities including a microwave and a refrigerator. They were installing new cable boxes the morning we were leaving. Great price for what they offer.
