Here are some reviews of Bushy Park - don't forget to let us know how you got on by using the drop box at the bottom of the page, or joining our community and making a review.

        • Great park to go with the kids. I even remember the park for my childhood although it's changed quite a lot. Parents should watch small children in the park as it has a giant swing with no railings around (huge hazard if u ask me)
        • I love Bushy Park because it has a feeling of being the country. It's more magical when you can see deer wandering close and the if the rules are not to tell people not to pat them more people are tempted to pat them. I recommended to everyone to visit the park.
        • Beautiful, diverse park at all times of year. Can get very busy at weekends and holiday times so traffic getting in and out can be an issue. But walk away from the main routes and you can find yourself alone - welcome respite from busy surroundings. There's a large children's play area near Hampton Court entrance, too.
        • Pro's Where do you start there are so many Car parking is plentiful and free Numerous public transport options The park itself is huge Woodland walks, streams, ponds and brooks, open field for as far as the eye can see. Great venue for picnics Bird watchers paradise Deers roaming freely Coffee shop The King's Arms close by is a great little stop off point Con's There are none You could spend days in here and not walk the same path twice. Truly an oasis within the hectic bustle of city life.
        • So awesome and peaceful. And you can get a huge kick out of watching people get stuck in that one lane road for ages. It's a nice drive through the park but holy crap, you are there for an eternity.
        • Beautiful park. Stunning all year round. Nice cafe and amenities. Great for runners and cyclists. Kids playground is very big and family friendly. Only negative I would say is that it can be a popular cut through in rush hours and can sometimes experience traffic on the road running through.
        • I love this park, you can walk, bike, run, relax, picnic etc. Plenty of deer to see as well as many other species of wildlife if you can spot them on your visits. It's a great royal park and Hampton court Palace is so close to it, which I also recommend a visit. There are toilets in the park, couple of coffee shops if you end up spending longer there than you thought. If you have a nice long sunny day, you can visit Bushy Park , walk into Kingston and grab some street food and then continue up the Thames to Richmond Park, stopping off to check out Ham House on the way. It's a full day but a great one😁
        • Bushy park is stunning. It's a relatively wild but calm haven. There are beautiful deer (don't get too close, they are wild although pretty used to humans), picturesque ponds, the Diana fountain, 2 gorgeous gardens - the woodland gardens are particularly great in spring with the daffodils and crocuses, and smooth tracks for cycling or skating. It's perfect for dog walkers and year round rambles.
        • A surprisingly large oasis. The view from the road only covers a small part of the park. Lots of deer - don't get too close! The car park gets full quickly, it is worth arriving early. We arrived as the nature photographers were leaving! Good cafe at the car park, plus another signposted from the road.
        • This is a fabulous park. It is a massive open space to roam through. The bulk of the space is open grassland that is largely intended. But there is also the woodland garden with well maintained lawns and a very formal 18th century water garden. A great place to exercise, run the dog and/or children pretty much any time of the year. Two things to be careful of the deer and the deer ticks that can be encountered in the grass. However, provided you take appropriate care neither will spoil your enjoyment of the park.
        • The peasantry is my favourite place here. Little ponds, wildlife and beautiful landscape. The park is way too big if you have more than one young child but still bushy is one of my favourite places to visit.
        • A great space to spend a bit of time with nature. Deer wander freely outside of the "woodland' areas. These are fenced off and maintained beautifully yet naturally. Big plus is that it never gets as busy as Richmond Park.
        • There is a park run at 9am every Saturday morning. If you are into your running or just starting out, it's a great way to get some miles down. The park also had a great play area and they usually have a kiosk open in the car park for coffees and treats. There is usually enough parking but in summer months it can get really busy.
        • We love Bushy park for long walks, beautiful wildlife, flora and forna. Dogs should be on a lead for the wildlife to be safe but are welcome with responsible owners. There is an enclosed garden area (no dogs but they have area just outside with picnic tables for owners and dogs to sit drink and eat) with a lovely cafe for light lunches, meals and snacks. Lovely
        • This is a really fun place. We wouldn't have ended up here except that our family members recommended it. It was so great, we could have spent all day here if the weather had cooperated. Running, biking, picnicking, playing. This park makes for a great outing.
        • Bushy park is great for flat land walks. Plenty of deer and some nice canals with lots of birds. Coming between 8-9 usually gets you parking space. Come 10 and join the queue. Coffee available for mobile caffeteria.
        • Pheasantry plantation, nice little self contained area in the middle of Bushy Park, fenced off from deer so has a much wider variety of flora. Pond through the middle with geese and ducks, lots of tree trunks to clamber on with young kids, takes about half an hour to walk all the way round ( taking it very easy, stopping off to climb trees). Has its own cafe ( gets pretty busy), coffee stall (ice cream stall in summer), toilets and car park. The rest of Bushy Park also highly recommended, beautiful, epic, historic. Also the site of the National Physical Laboratory
        • Great park for walking, running, cycling or dog walking. Fairly big, has small ponds and lots of grassland. On most days the deer are chilling out in the open. There are lots of birds and squirrels as well.
        • Lovley place to go for a walk. Be prepared to take time to find somewhere to park always busy. Cafe do nice supply of hot drinks and food.
        • Wonderful park. Well kept and maintained. Free parking. Yes that's free parking. Deer roaming around in a very large open space. Great routes for walking, jogging, cycling and even pushing buggies.
        • Beautifully maintained park. Great for walks on a sunny day. And very close to Hampton Court and the river. The bonus is you might get to see deers too.
        • Bushy park is a great place to go out to either on your own or with your family. It is divided into several sections. My favourite being the wooded area around the pheasant cafe. It's a lovely shaded area with a beautiful natural canopy of tress in the summer. Great for family picnics and brisk walks when the weather is a little cold. Parking is free and has a tendency to get full quite quickly by midday on the weekends. There are deer throughout the park and sometimes the herd wanders close to the road, great for photos
        • Been coming here all my life, its so beautiful, its like free therapy! So blessed to have this on my doorstep. Please always respect it and it's wildlife, and don't approach the deer yourself or allow your dog or children to. Remember they are powerful WILD animals!
        • This park is between Twickenham and Kingston. Very close to Heathrow and London but once you're inside, you could be miles away from any town. It's quiet, sublime and with lovely idyllic scenery you feel like you're in another country. The deer roam amongst you, ducks in abundance and you also have a shack which serves warm drunks and cakes. There's also a children's playground which has plenty of rides for kids including a sand pit. It's great for if you want to be alone or if you want to have a family picnic.
        • Love this park! Very big and beautiful. Loved seeing all the wild animals, they all looked very healthy and happy. It's got open land, woods, steams, rabbits and deer and lots of lovely flowers. Good place to just explore and appreciate nature! Good to take the dogs but they have to be kept on the lead most times as not to disturb the wildlife. Can't wait to visit again!
        • The smaller cousin of nearby Richmond Park, Bushy is still quite large enough to get lost in, with much to see along the way. The park is famed for its herds of red and fallow deer grazing some beautiful, wildlife-rich grassland, but is worth visiting for the woodland, hidden gardens (gorgeous azaleas in late spring), and a variety of streams, ponds and lakes, too. There's free car parking, refreshments, and wheelchair-friendly paths around much of the park. It tends to stay open until dusk, but check times on the gates to ensure your car doesn't get locked in!
        • I’ve been coming here since I was a small child in the 70s, and now bring my grandchildren. It’s a great place to bring the whole family to picnic and chill, and it’s free. There is a play park area too. Lots of free roaming deer, they do seem friend but you are advised to let them do their thing and not touch them as they can be unpredictable.
        • This is the perfect park for kids as there is a massive playground next to the entrance. It's also a nice place to walk your dog as big open fields cover the park. It's also perfect for tourists to relax in because it's right next to Hampton Court but be aware that all over the park especially during summer there are deers which walk around freely.
        • It is great place for a quiet time and picnic. Beautiful and worth the time to come here and chill. Sitting right now near the pond with ducks and swans chirping along is a feeling out of this world
        • Love this park. It has everything you would expect in a well kept royal park. Plenty of nice paths for walking and cycling, informal areas for running around with the dog or flying kites, sports areas, and beautiful formal gardens. Wild deer roam freely, and I've seen Kingfishers :)
        • Excellent park. Very clean and with a nice remote rural feeling, even if it's very connected. Perfect for family picnics. Lots of secluded benches where you can stop and catch your breath. Wonderful, really!
        • Beautiful Park. Wooden Garden really nice with lots of flowers and the little river stream running through. Really big Park good for a nice day walk around. Good spots for Picnic. A nice place for families.
        • Wild but docile deer roam the park freely giving visitors a closer connection with nature. Bushy Park of the few places in the capital where you can experience such things. Beautiful ponds home to a nice variety of birds including swan, goose, various ducks, coot and moorhen. Excellent place to visit in the summertime for picnics, sunbathing etc. Playground for the kids, an ice cream van ever present.
        • Gorgeous park that is clearly well maintained from the trees to the grass and even the ponds. Very easy to access with no fee and hundreds of free roaming deer to see! Such a wonderful and unique location to visit in the busy surrounding area. Highly recommended for anyone with either 1 minute or one day to spend here.
        • Excellent Royal Park in West London area, near to Hampton Court Palace and has a very large free car park. In the park you can see deer and loads of bird life. Also try a walk around the three lakes. The small lake next to the car park was the old boating lake and now is full of bird life. Carry on walking away from the car park and there is a large lake( Heron ) and next is Leg of Mutton Lake that is connected to Heron lake by a small canal full of carp.
        • Parking is free although it would be useful if the car park had lined parking bays as people do park taking up big spaces. Great walk around the lakes today in the warm sunshine, lovely to see the deer, baby cignets and ducklings. Sad to see litter being left on grass doesn't take much to take to a bin or home!! Love coming here away from the hustle and bustle of town, good to bring picnic. There are toilets right near children's play park and a small cafe with outside seating only to grab a coffee or an ice cream.
        • Lovely place to walk around especially with the deer running round. Take heed of the warnings given by the park and don't let your dog loose unlike unbelievably mainly clueless locals who I regularly see let their pets loose within plain sight of the deer. Have respect for the wildlife especially the woodland area and you will have a great time.. You can cross the road(go to the Lion Gate)to see the lovely gardens at Hampton Court. That bit is free. There are maps around the park to guide you.
        • A beautiful park, free car park, the deer are in excellent condition and not phased by all the people. Just be aware that from June there are baby deer with mothers protecting them in the long grass/ferns. Always keep your distance from all wild animals. Our 5month old dog loved the delicacies left behind by the deer... A lovely walk otherwise!
        • I had a lovely visit to Bushy Park at Hampton Court. We went on a Sunday about 11 o clock and was worried we might not be able to park, but there was plenty of space. Parking is free. Passing the Diana Fountain we settled under a tree.. it was great shade in the hot weather we've got at the moment. There is a rest room and a kiosk selling snacks and drinks. We brought our own food as its a lot cheaper . Its a wonderful day out for all the family... and very inexpensive. Lovely place.
        • Such a special park! Anyone close by should make the time to go and walk, ride their bikes, sit and relax, have a picnic. Enjoy the ponds and wildlife or have a coffee and read a newspaper or book in this wonderful park. You can even fish and release here!! 😁😊😀
        • Great open space in south west London. Nicer (and quieter) than nearby Richmond Park. Deer roam around freely. Easy to find a quiet spot for a picnic or just to chill out. Plenty of free parking.
        • What a lovely place to visit. So many fallow deer to see, don't forget your camera (please don't feed them). A huge area, so great for walks and cycle rides. A couple of large lakes with ducks, geese, swans, etc. Free parking. Great children's play area, incl sand pit. Lovely cafe with tasty muffins and cookies. Ice cream van. Walk in the woods in the area without dogs and deer to see more wildlife, incl squirrels. You can take a picnic and easily spend the day here.
        • Lots of free parking in the middle of the park off the Diana fountain. Wild deer roam freely who are generally wary of people but equally happy investigating your picnic. There is a snack bar next to the car park with easy wheelchair access. Toilets are a short walk away next to the play area. This is a collection of climbing frames, swings for various ages and slides. There is a variety of static planes and trains for the toddlers to play with. The centre piece is the sand pit. There is a covered area nearby in case it rains. There is often an ice-cream van near at the usual tourist prices. This a nice stopoff before enjoying the free gardens at Hampton Court.
        • Have been visiting this park for years. Ample walking in 450 hectares. Red deer and fallow deer roam free but don't feed them! Enjoy their breathtaking beauty. This park does get busy so arrive early. The playground is perfect for hours of play and the Pheasentry Cafe offers delicious cakes and drinks to rest your weary legs.
        • Brilliant for a day out. Great for everyone. Parking is a bit of a struggle In the afternoon when busy. All round lovely place to visit with many deer (but don’t feed). Massive area which is great for nicking and walking the dog. Lots of large lakes with ducks swans etc. Many cafes with cake and sandwiches.
