        • I was going through A transfer from Tokyo Japan through Beijing China. In Japan (Tokyo) we are told to hand carry our power banks but in China we are told we are told to check it in which causes a lot of confusion and frustration. I have a GOPRO case with an integrated power bank system (under 165kw). When I went through the Chinese customs they confiscated my power bank (to include the case) because they were not sure how many kilowatts it was (funny, it was made in China). I offered to show them a digital receipt which shows my power banks kilowatts on my phone but they said they only accept paper receipts. I mean you would think because it's 2017 innovative places like China would accept digital receipts but no I was sorely mistaken. My suggestion to the Beijing airport is to at least accept digital receipts so nobody experiences getting their personal items confiscated. If the Chinese customs accepted my digital receipt I would still have my 60 euro power bank. On top of that, the staff was very rude. Again, in the Japan (Tokyo) it is REQUIRED for you to carry your power bank and in China (Beijing) it is REQUIRED to check your power bank in; unless you have something IN PAPER stating it's 165kw or under. A great disappointment it is.... I hope to never go back there again.
        • I think that the most frustrating part of traveling through Beijing is the general chaos. There is very little seating room for those who are flying domestically. Customs forms aren't handed out on planes and you have to figure out where to get one and fill one out. Security is a joke and a half. I have had and experience where all my luggage was unpacked as they were looking for spoons I had bought as gifts. The most frustrating part is that not only are there few English speakers, but no one bothers to try to communicate to you in Mandarin. I have tried speaking to them, but mostly end up getting a blank stare. Even after being given am English speaker all I got were excuses about not being able to communicate. I am sorry but as an international airport I would expect a little more effort. I would honestly avoid this airport unless you had no other choice. Hands down the worst service I've ever had - worldwide. The train station in Beijing (not the city lines but the ones that go across China) and better built, serviced and have food options The architecture at this airport looks nice, but style without substance is just a pretty shell.
        • This airport is massive. I really enjoyed the architecture. The crowds are massive so prepare for very long lines and lots of people bumping into each other. There was a good variety of stores to shop and eat at which i enjoyed during my long layover. Very clean airport overall
        • Cool place. Big... love the fountain and showers were clean... food is ok the western food not that western or good. Taxi was kinda cheap don't pay first price they ask.
        • Useless tourist information counter. Instead of pointing helpful direction to tourists, dishonest staffs scam tourists into riding cahoots' much more expensive taxi and mobile services. And none of them speaks English, they will just ignore English-speaking tourists. What a "great" welcome at the doorstep of the capital city!
        • The International terminal is very large. It is clean and comfortable, and friendly to English speakers. The food options were very limited for a building of this size, and the prices were in line with what you would expect at an airport.
        • Very few dining option. Ended up paying for wifi, which was still subpar at best. Went through 3 different security checks even after flying from Taipei, including one directly before getting on the plane. Had my power bank confiscated despite showing the precise model on the brand's website. Will do everything to avoid a layover here again.
        • I've never experienced such HORRIBLE customer service in my life. Imagine the frustration of being stuck in an international Airport where no one speaks English... I was coming off a flight for an international transfer to Japan. They gave me the wrong gate number. I was sent to so many different areas of the airport because no one wanted to be bothered or help me.. I was shooed off and ignored. . When asking for directions, the staff would point or shrug their shoulders. It's like they are just thrown into the job without training. I was treated bad and without courteousy. Now I've missed my flight and have to wait 24 hours to catch the next one. I will avoid all future flights and layovers in Beijing. These are the rudest people I've ever met in my life.
        • Too busy and long queue There is an especially dedicated subway leading right to the airport and the cost is RMB 25/- and the stops are limited to only Terminal 2 & 3. As per the laws for aviation in China, it’s not allowed to carry the batteries in the check in baggage and has to be carried in the hand baggage. During the security check they instructed me to remove all the batteries and put them separately which included the camera batteries, external power bank, etc. It’s really hectic to remove all and then fix them back in after the clearance.
        • Very crowded airport is this. Huge number flights arrival and departing from this airport. Mind blowing is the architecture of this airport. This airport consist of four floors, the construction of this airport is also a engineering marvel. The upper floor has support of 600 thick rods and can resist all the levels of pressure. The overall structure is wonderful to watch, an amazing human creation. The flight landing and take off areas are just majestic. The more you visit this airport it fascination develops.
        • It is a nice airport, but it takes a long time to get from the main terminal to your gate. Allow the full 3 hours recommended as you may be surprised at the obstacles in your way. For international flights returning home, do not forget your departure card! This is the paper you would have received when you arrived in China. Also before boarding your flight, I recommend buying a bunch of drinks at a machine at the gate as the price is low and can make for a more comfortable flight home.
        • Flights from this airport almost always depart late. Consider yourself lucky if you are late for 1 or 2 hours. Last time i sat on tarmac for about 4 hours. By the way the self check in machines for Air China will not work if you hold foreign passport. Be prepare to queue for 1.5 hours before check in counters.
        • Was here for a total of six hours between two layovers to/from Japan. The airport is MASSIVE. It will likely take someone a solid 15 to 20 minutes to get from point A to B in this airport. That being said, we had no issue with staff who were blunt but not really rude. Security was a slog, but moved decently fast (took us about 45 minutes - they will prioritize people whose flight is leaving soon). Food and drink options were decent for an airport. The design of the airport is modern and pleasant.
        • GREAT airport, very modern, most staff know English with a pretty strong accent, but understandable and most are very helpful. Like most other Chinese airports, free hot, warm, or cold water. Modern facilities and a janitor assigned to every bathroom(there are bathrooms everywhere so it is convenient) so they are always clean. Charging ports everywhere and enough space and chairs to lie down. Great restarants and stores and friendly security.
