        • The infrastructure may be sound, but the interior of the terminal buildings look like the day after armageddon, with food and prices to match. There is litter everywhere, and that includes loo roll and paper towels from the bathrooms. It's an amazing sight and I wondered if a rampaging coterie of wild animals had descended upon the place. However having seen it on 3 separate days, these animals are clearly not to blame. For a 1st world country and a city of culture, the state of the airport makes no sense. It seems to be telling you that you're not wanted and that the sooner you go away, the better. €6 euros for a self-serve subway sandwich and €5 for a packaged service station sandwich. For heavens sake don't need to use the bathrooms. Yes, you can transit the airport on the way in quickly, so it does its job, but on the way out, come armed with your own victuals, empty bowels and imagining you're in ........well , I don't want to denigrate some fly ridden, 2 bit, former Soviet, second rate, minor airport......
        • Great experience at arrival. Late flight, practically empty airport. Helpful staff and easy access to public transportation into the city. When returning it was a complete different story. Flight was mid afternoon and the airport was extremely busy. Took forever to go through security, not enough people at peek hours. Almost missed our flight. Beware that a special ticket to and from the airport is required, the T10 is not valid (best transport pass for the city). The public transportation (metro) assistant was extremely friendly, patient and helpful.
        • Airport is new, contemporary, and easy to navigate with plenty of dining and shopping options, a big difference coming from the Berlin airport. Service was pretty good and fast overall as well. The only negative is that the airport free wifi is too much of a hassle for visitors and suggest improving that right away.
        • The airport seems fairly deserted. The exterior is fairly ugly and the interiors are okayish. I guess there was some big event (or a strike) the day we left Barcelona. The airport was littered to no end - over flowing bins, super dirty toilets, trash everywhere! Pros: Free wifi and a good connectivity to the city. Buses and trains every few minutes. Cons: Dirty and deserted.
        • Terminal 2 is the new terminal. There fly the international big traditional airlines Terminal 1 is the old one. There normally fly the low cost airlines such as Ryanair. Make sure you check which Terminal you are departing from as they are not connected!
        • Has lots of great stores. The layout is alright and the facilities look nice. However, the good ends there. The security check was extremely disorganized. The security employees where not helpful and did not even try to keep things orderly. Once in the secured zone there was no information desk. They did have a few non-functional electronic information boards but that was it. There was not even a map or directory for the shops and restaurants. Every airport or mall I have ever been to has had some type of directory. Even though he facilities are nice I wish I could give this airport less than one star just because of how frustrating they make the whole experience.
        • Barcelona Airport had good infrastructure and allowed for a smooth arrival and departure. There are good options for eating and shopping. My only criticism was that I felt a little unsure of whether I was in the right place at the right time - but this is my fault for being monolingual.
        • This airport doesn't even deserve a one star. I travel very regularly and this is by far the worse i have been to. Not to mention, I live here therefore i use this horrific airport often. I haven't been in a Spanish airplane because usually use Qatar Airways. But the way the Bcn Airport runs is completely unacceptable and changes should be made. You will ALWAYS end up waiting 2+ hours for your baggage, and if it is lost, finding it will take ages. The entire airport is just utterly unorganized and the staff are no help. Would recommend traveling to Madrid and taking a bus or train to Barcelona because this airport is trash. There also is litter everywhere. Currently writing this while sitting on the airport's cold floor, waiting for my bags. It's been hours. And I have not seen a single staff member since immigration. This airport is slow and dead. What a disappointment. Update: finally got my luggage and it's damaged.
        • Never use OK Car rental Again I had the most horrible experience with the OK Car rental close to the airport. I was robbed: my handbag was stolen with all the documents, cards, keys, cash etc inside. I am very disappointed with the OK car rental as this happened several times before ( as the staff confirmed ) and no precautionary measures were introduced to avoid or prevent this from happening again. The police also confirmed that this is happening regularly around the airport. No videos installed, no warning given to the client and no staff accompanying the client to the car ( which could have been done easily ) although the place is dark after sunset, pretty isolated, close to a construction area. I also have to mention that I booked the car via Internet at the Barcelona airport and there was no mention in the confirmation that this car rental was not at the airport but some km away. We could not find the shuttle bus, the airport information desk did not provide us with the right information, finally we found a taxi to take us there. At the end of our stay, when we returned the car, the GPS could not take us to the place and had difficulties to find it early in the morning, in the darkness. The staff of OK Car rental did not show any compassion, we did not get any explanation or apology. I wrote to OK Car rental about the incident and so far no response. Our direct financial loss is approximately 2500 EURO: I wonder if this will be reimbursed through the insurance we had on the car ( actually 2 insurances ). I have been working for the 3rd week now to get all the papers and cards and keys back. What a nightmare... I hope this review will help others to avoid similar problems.
        • No smoking area and very bad coffee at the Terminal 1. After 8 hours of wait, I wasn't much happy about not smoking and drinking two bad coffee. Never wanna fly again from the Barcelona airport!
        • Well organized, but no clear instructions for those seeking for local buses. They charge €4,50 if you arrive by metro.
        • HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK IS NICE TO REFORM 2 RUNWAYS AT THE SAME TIME? 4 flights already delayed more than 2. Typical Spanish.
        • Wish the signs were clearer. Looks as though you have to select gate zone after security but if you go to zones D or E you get no shop access. Very limited food. Not a great place to spend 2 hours. Gate areas A to C even get outside courtyard.
        • Huge airport, signs were straightforward, easy to follow. Security check seemed a bit less organized to me it went smoothly nonetheless. There's free wifi, did not work for me though.
        • Very effiecent. It was nice to have a full view of planes landing and taking off. It was a nice sunny day.
        • Barcelona-El Prat Airport is now consolidated as a strategic point of reference in the Euro-Mediterranean airspace. The continuous improvement of its facilities and the quality of its services have enabled this airport to establish an exceptional position to face the future with certainty. The increase in passenger traffic at the airport is an accurate indicator of the advances made over the last decade. Passenger numbers have gone from 11,727,814 in 1995 to 44,154,693 in 2016, one of the highest average growth rates among Europe's leading airports. Having modernised its facilities, Barcelona-El Prat can offer quality services for passengers and an airfield worthy of a top-level airport, suitable for use by large commercial planes. The construction and introduction of the third runway in September 2004 and the extension to the primary runway were decisive steps to increase the airport's capacity, and it can now handle 90 operations an hour. With the aim of consolidating the airport as a model in the Mediterranean and southern Europe, the Master Plan included a set of actions to modernise and increase the airport's capacity. The most emblematic project in this phase was the construction of Terminal T1, which is located between runways. T1, of great architectural value, was conceived as a large logistical operations and services centre. It has a capacity of 33 million users per year and has overseen an investment of 1.26 billion euros. Work on this building was followed by the remodelling of Terminal T2 and the expansion and remodelling of the shopping areas in both terminals. New shops, new concepts, and new brands to adapt the offer to the passengers who use the airport facilities. Other projects included in the Master Plan are the urbanisation of over 300 hectares as a service area for the industrial and commercial development of the airport; the creation of a 90-hectare aeronautic park for installing maintenance hangars; and the construction of a city with office buildings and hotels. This plan will continue to transform the airport by applying an innovative concept that aims to turn its facilities into a sustainable airport city and a large air traffic distribution centre for southern Europe. 2016 saw the record figure of 44,154,693 passengers, 11.2% more than the previous year, as well as 307,864 operations and 132,755 tonnes of cargo.
        • Where in the world you have the main area before the passport control. So once you pass the passport control, that's it. You are now in self-entertaining mode. And forget a smoking area too. ΜΑΛΑΚΙΑ GRANTE.
        • Passed thru' T1. Its spacious, lots of shops, good infrastructure, food, small chapel, etc. Had to eat here- NOT recommended to eat at airport unless you have to. Food's expensive, cold, and could be better. For the same price, we had a decent filling meal in town!
        • Worst airport to travel in if you're an American. I can't count how many dirty looks I get from workers here. It's shameful really. The "Information Desk" girl literally sent me in the wrong direction all together. Then when I went back she rolls here eyes at me. Sorry I'm from America and I'm spending money in your beautiful country. I'm not a Trump supporter (I'm exactly the opposite) but some locals here just see an American and they instantly judge. SMH 🤦‍♂️ I won't be coming back.
        • A much better airport for those who remember the old terminal (now T2). Good range of shops/food. A word of advice if traveling via the 'D' gate (most UK flights) be aware once you enter that wing you cannot get back to the main hub of shops. It is only a 5-15min walk to get to the gates within D from the main hall so no need to rush to your gate.
        • Pretty fast check in and lines. HOWEVER... What kind of airport doesn't connect ALL its gates to the shopping area after customs? Careful D and E gates, if you check in you don't get anything but a duty free store, McDonald's, and a Relay store along with a Cafe that wasn't even open when I was here. It doesn't make sense to allow A, B, and C gates access after customs to all the stores but not D and E. A lot of revenue gone from people not aware of this with extra euro to spend like I had as well as time to waste. Poor planning and building structure in my opinion. Also no one warned us of this and no sigage was availible for this. The information desk agent clearly was having a bad day when we asked about going to the stores he was very monotone and seemed like he didn't wanna do his job. Very disappointed.
        • A nice clean airport. Found it quick to get through passport control and security with no hold ups. Lacking some decent places to get food but that may vary depending on the terminal (we were in the easy jet one).
        • Unbelievably bad experience! Fine to get through luggage security checks and had a coffee, assumed we would go straight to the gate and board, but turned a corner to find a huge mob at passport control. No signs whatsoever to say there was another level of security to pass. ABSOLUTE BEDLAM! Hundreds of passengers pushing but only 3 desks working with two female staff roaming around causing EXTRA CHAOS by shouting conflicting instructions, pointlessly splitting the line into two mobs and aggressively moving bollards around. SO UNNECESSARILY STRESSFUL, everyone boarding my flight had to run and felt stressed, the plane was delayed. I wish the airlines would put pressure on he Spanish authorities to sort it out. Dreadful experience. Leave plenty of time to get from the airport door to the plane door.
        • They need to educate airport workers !! Very rude security officers. We were family with a baby on stroller when our flight was early morning we were heading to "NOBODY ON LINE" for security check up one officer was yelling at us in Catalan... I told him I don't understand what are you saying he shouted and pointed his finger to other special family entrance. And when got their same thing happened one rude woman and man were there and same thing when we tried to get into the checking they were yelling in Catalan and told him I don't understand and they checked us roughly
        • Barcelona airport what a disgrace. Check in counter staff fantastic. Security and customs an absolute disgrace. Two customs officers for many thousands of people. Two hours from security line to get through customs. Management should hang their heads in shame. Out of 10 would be a fat ZERO.
        • Really badly organized for such a new airport. It is clean and in good condition. BUT They prioritize shopping over easy access to gates. The air conditioning almost never works properly. WiFi is complicate to connect to and generally not good.
        • Nice and clean. Gate E section - Once enter, no way out to other areas. Fake internet. Looks connected but no internet traffic. No charging stations but with few outlets at the bottom of some columns. Bring your small size converter if you are using US style plug.
        • On arriving at El Prat you see all the nice shops to visit on your departure but alas this is not to be. You get shuffled through check in and straight through passport control which means you do not get to visit any of them. You can only go to McDonalds to eat and look down on all the nice, quiet, empty shops and restaurants. The airport is clean though (I'm trying to be nice)! So I got to sit and try to gain internet access to enable me and I write this review. Got there eventually once I fought through the attempts to get me to pay repeatedly.
        • Good airport but be warned that if you are flying from area D then you won't be able to get back to the main shopping area. Take your time getting to gate and enjoy the airport a bit!
        • I'm sitting in El Prat waiting for my flight and all I can see around me are people fanning themselves to get some respite from the suffocating temperature. This place is a disgrace. If you are too cold you can always wear more but too hot and you just have to grin and bear it. We are being asked to turn up earlier and earlier for flights due to safety restrictions but having to sit 3 hours in this, is horrendous. Spend some money El Prat and show some compassion.
        • The airport is better than in Kathmandu International. But by far, this was my worst travel experience for quite some time. Check in counter not attended. Processing time slow. Friendless moderate. Gates undefined (an hour before departure) Crowded security check in area. Power outlets only at pillars in front of gates. BCN deserves better airport (management). Note the comment relates to T2. I cannot comment on T1.
        • Easy to get to, easy to navigate, quick security. - 1 star for comfort reasons. Room for improvement: For such a hot place the aircon does not seem to work and restaurants / cafes do not offer iced coffee. If you ask for one, you get piping hot coffee and icecubes that melt in a second, leaving you with a lukewarm drink, instead of a cold one.
        • The worst airport ever. I came here at 00:30 and there was no machine operating to buy a travel ticket. Then with hundreads others, we had to wait for buses to come. ONLY 2 or 3 buses (not diret to central of Barcelona) had arrived until I got one at 2am. Unbelievable. 2-3 buses for 1.30 hours?? Is it an international airport? I wish there was a zero star to rate. Never back again.
        • Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) is a great modern (especially Terminal T1) airport. Given how busy it can be in the summer due to the popularity of the area with travelers from all areas, things are still moving fast. Security has many fast x-ray belts with scanners yo read your boarding pass. Most of all, airport personnel is courteous, and helpful. It's a Catalunya and Spanish tradition!
        • Terrible design layout! If you have not been here before, beware that if you go through customs, you cannot access any shops or restaurants other than McDonalds or a cafe for food near your departure gates. All restaurants/shops are located on a different level accessible after security, but not once you go through customs, and everyone is directed from security straight to customs so it's very easy to miss if you aren't aware. You can literally see all of the amazing options on the lower level but there is no way to get there! Very unenjoyable 7 hour delay with limited food options for both lunch and dinner, especially as a vegetarian.
        • Getting to this airport from Barcelona was smooth and easy. Just take the train at Passeig de Gracia and you will be there in 30-40 minutes. And it only costs 4.10 euros. The airport is big and clean. There are a lot of signs for directions and I appreciated the shuttle bus that takes you to terminal 1 or 2 depending where your flight is departing from (bus stop outside). Security check was fast and efficient. I miss Barcelona already!
        • My wife and I flew into and out of this airport while in Barceliona. Our flight into the airport was great. They shuttled us to the terminal from our plane and we quickly got our bags and met up with our driver. 5 stars easily. Fly out from this airport. Our flight was at 10 or 11 in the morning. Our departure gate was 68. We walked to the end of a very long hall and departure gate 68 is behind a wall. What they do not tell you is that in order to get to the gate, you have to go through passport control here. My wife and I along with everyone else on our flight never got this memo. A half hour before our flight was supposed to leave, we are still standing in passport control.
        • I can't speak for Terminal 1, but Terminal 2 is not nice. From the moment I walked in the door, I began sweating from the lack of air conditioning. It only seemed to be available in certain parts of the airport. The place in general was dirty and unkempt, as were the toilets. One had 7 urinals, but 5 of those were out of service and covered up, leaving only 2 available. This seemed to be the norm, as each toilet in this place I that I visited had at least one thing that was out of order. The staff in general were glum and unmotivated, and the security staff were rude. You have to go through passport control when departing from this airport before you can get to your gate, and the gentleman who was running this seemed to think he was in charge of an army as he shouted harshly at people with no respect. Arriving back into Dublin Airport made BCN seem like an airport in a third world country.
        • Great airport, normally quite quick to get through. Very tidy and clean, maybe lacking a bit in terms of shops and restaurants. However it's not over crowded and gives very quick access to Barcelona by metro or taxi.
        • Staff strikes at security control caused us to miss our flight. We arrived over two and a half hours before our flight. We were flying with an infant, and airport staff forced us into an infant / pushchair only security control queue. It was glacial. Over and hour and a half later, we made it through to passport control. We explained to the staff there that our flight is boarding, so we need to be fast tracked. Our request dismissed, we had to queue for another half an hour. By the time we eventually got to our gate, the flight had left. The airport offered no support what-so-ever. The airline had no representative at the airport, and we were sent from pillar to post trying to get some support. In the end, we had to just book and pay for new flights ourselves and we'll have to try to recover our costs. We filled in complaint forms, but even the most urgent of complains are 'dealt with within seven days'. Individuals we spoke with were polite enough, but just offered no meaningful assistance. One member of staff at a help desk even said that 'it is definitely the airport's fault'. We were left stranded by no fault of our own, with no assistance offered what-so-ever.
        • When we arrived T1 at 6am, there are more than 200 people queueing for security check, but we managed to get through in 20 minutes which is quite efficient. Lots of shops and restaurants. Spacious and clean. Perfect place to do the last minute shopping before flying out this shopping paradise!
        • Strike day! At 6:00 a queue so large! More than 2 hours only for controls// 1 hour for checking.... we thought that we will miss our flight The guys at control are in strike but wait 2 min between each passenger. They do the best they can for you miss your flight! Passengers are hostages, we paid our holidays or visit our family!! Shame on ANAE
        • Quick and efficient security, arrived 2 hours early to be safe, took 10 minutes. Food quality differs and is sometimes expensive. Heaps of seating at least
        • wonderful airport, but:🌧⤵️ need to be careful about yourself and ready due to you are looking for your flight as you going transit through it , in same Term.or other a huge airport with less information centre people!! ⚠️T1🔁T2 ABC 🚃Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2) at Barcelona Airport are 4km apart. Therefore, if you need to go from one terminal to the other you will not be able to walk. Barcelona Airport provides free shuttle buses that run between the two terminals. The buses are green and so you should be able to distinguish them from the other buses outside the airport. ⤵️ 🚄🚅Alternatively, if you are catching a connecting flight, there are free shuttle buses that are available air side i.e. without having to enter the terminal building. You should check with your airline as to whether one of these will coincide with your flight. ➡️Cruise Port The distance from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Pier (Cruise) is approximately 15 km.
        • Absolutely terrible. If anything happens to your flight - delays, cancellations, etc - then get ready, you're in for a VERY long and disorganized wait (or five). Signage is poor, so it's difficult to find your way around. Control of the flow of people was also very poor - we went up an escalator that led to a roped off area, and were directed to the wrong place for our shuttle bus. Once we found the shuttle platform, the bus was an hour late. That's on the hotel and their shuttle, but after 5 hours trying to get to the right place, it was just the icing on the cake. What a mess. Decent shops, but it doesn't matter, this airport is sheer hell to get through. Never again.
        • The airport itself is nice and all, but there was only 1 person working behind the counter to get the VAT tax refund. Since not all can be done via the kiosk, this line was very long. So hopefully you don't miss your flight.
        • The worst airport I have been to. No information or conflicting information on flights status. Longest queues at security despite abundance of useless personnel...and finding a power plug is a true mission impossible. You have to be very drunk or very lucky to enjoy your stay here
        • Great airport! I come from Berlin and was enlightened to see how everything was clean and worked, but most of all that our plane even took off when it was supposed to! Tegel could learn alot from you El Prat!! keep up the good work!
        • Very strange experience... i have been to many airports in four continents, never have I encountered an airport where the duty free is before the passport control. Very confusing. We evidently were not the first to go to the duty free and then accidentally walk outside because the sign to the gate was misleading!!! We had to go through security another time. The guards informed us that this happens on a regular basis... anyway, this second time around I was randomly chosen for a more thorough check... in addition, the line to the TAX claim was so long we waved the pleasure and the refund. We could not find any place offering a decent salad other than McDonald’s. Other than this, in the duty free you have more common brands such as Zara and Mango in the airport and you can do some of the shopping there without worrying about the extra weight. Hope you found this useful :)
        • If you are flying outside of the Schengen, this airport is absolutely terrible. McDonald's is your best food option, there is nothing to do, and the gates are unbelievably hot because they are located at the highest point in the terminal building. To add insult to injury, you have to look down on all the amazing amenities to travelers going within the EU. Try to get access to the lounge if possible.
        • Small airport. Easy to find way around. They NEED charging ports. My phone died and had a hard time finding my private taxi. Definitely needs an update
        • The disparity of this airport (within terminal 1) is ridiculous. If you travelling within the Schengen Area you have access to an array of shops and eateries. However, if you are not you are left with McDonald's and a tiny duty free. You are corralled like cattle through passport control as soon as you are through security. At this point it is too late to gain access to the usual airport facilities - shops and restaurants and bars. Instead, you end up upstairs looking down on the area you are unable to gain access to - as though in a cage. It's poorly signed and the staff are incredibly rude. I appreciate they will be asked 'why' are you are unable to go downstairs all the time - however instead of irritably responding perhaps they should put forward a suggestion for a layout change or at least decent signage. On the plus side - there's wifi, hence enabling me to write this review and place a Zara order (taking away from this airport's profit on retail sales).
        • This airport was nice big and clean staff very helpful. Easy airport to get around if you are travelling alone. Good range of eateries and places to sit
        • Terminal 1 is new, spacious and comfortable and is served by most airlines. Lots of shopping in the central area. 3 VIP lounges. Terminal 2 serves some low-cost carriers. Ground transportation options include Airbus to the center of Barcelona, as well as a train, which leaves from Terminal 1 every 30 minutes. There's also a new metro line, but you have to make a transfer to reach central Barcelona.
        • Nice airport that is fairly easy to navigate. Lots of great shopping options on the ground floor before you hit security. Once you're past security, you can't go down to the shopping area.
        • This is a massive airport with plenty of shops and a nice smoking area! However, two of the gates (D and E) are in a different area and once you pass the controls you are not longer able to enjoy the all airport but only few shops and one McDonald. It does not make any sense! Anyway, it is the only airport in barcelona so my review and the other ones either will not change the way it works! So, if there's anything you want to buy or you just want to be able to get outside while you are waiting for you gate to be open, wait for your passport control and only do it once you are ready to depart. I believe this would be the best choice!
        • Huge airport with multiple terminals. The metro connection to city easy to find but is somewhat a walk. You can find nice views of the runway!
        • This Airport is good and has potential to be great. Entering into Spain and getting pass book stamped, they make foot traffic flow in a way it's impossible to reach the shops you see through the glass because luggage pickup goes opposite way towards the exit and airport staff recommended going outside and shop in Barcelona city instead. When leaving the country Spain and going through TSA, you'll then have access to all the airport shops which has virtually anything you need from food, clothes, self care, makeup shops and even souvenirs at decent prices. We had a terminal change for our flight with lack of clarity from airport staff which caused passengers from our flight to hurry from one end of the airport to a complete opposite end of so we could all board our flight. This airport maintenance staff does a good job of keeping clean. They are also friendly with families.
        • 🇬🇧 Very nice and quite large airport. Not all of the airport is completely new and reconstructed but the staff is helpful and kind. You will not get lost in the airport. 🚍 Good bus connections to several places in the center of Barcelona (6€ one-way ticket).
        • Modern building, comfortable, clean, with many stores, cafes and restaurants (open from 8h to 22h), even an open patio with café for smokers and non smokers. It's just 6 miles south from the city with several public transport options. I took my luggage quite quickly and easily found toilets, exit...
        • Airport was nice looking and clean. It was completely dead when I arrived, but appeared to have many shops around, though closed. It was 10pm so that's expected. The negative review comes from how long it took to get off the plane, to the baggage claim and out the door. We landed at 9:30 and had to bus to the terminal. No problem. We waited 50 minutes from the time we arrived at the terminal until the bags even started coming out in baggage claims. The plane was 1/4 mile from the terminal and there was maybe 2 flights in the arrivals. How it took nearly an hour to get baggage 1/4 mile is beyond me.
        • Great airport: beautiful shops and internationally minded staff. I felt much more comfortable shopping at the airport than city center, because I don't need to feel afraid of being overcharged. Staff didn't disturb me when I had to browse around either, which was great. :-) General impression is good for cleanliness and facilities are all outstanding.
        • The line to the the passport control *before* the flight was the worse I've even seen and I travel all the time. They had only 8 people checking the passports. Lot of people seemed to miss they flights. So you need a lot more than 2 hours before your flight if it's a busy time. Otherwise the place seemed clean and nice.
        • Fairly modern and efficient airport. The taxi cueing area was hard to find. It's on the lower level near all the buses but it's not well marked. The departures area is much easier to figure out and navigate. There is a good number of shops and restaurants and a really nice outdoor area with an ice cream stand to pass the time.
        • Nice European airport, very cozy and tidy around, easy to navigate and so on. Our experience with it left only positive feedback, the only issue are prices on food or something, cause they were extremely high. Also as I remember there were some queues when we wanted to leave Spain - we were waiting for half an hour to pass duty free.
        • Huge airport, terminals are fairly spread out. Can be a bit daunting for the novice traveller. Terminal 2C looked quite congested. Information desks are staffed and people there are helpful. Didn't find anything hugely interesting in the duty-free shops. Well connected to the city centre. There are no lounges at Terminal 2C and the nearest one is a 10 minute walk in Terminal 2B. Decent toilets. Terminal 1 looked much better than the other Terminals. Overall, a decent airport but could be better.
        • Catalans don’t do better than other Spanish, but even worst! I WEEKLY travel for work to Barcelona and almost ALWAYS find delays caused by the bad services of this airport: missing slots due to reduced staff on festival days, huge delays for the baggage claim (even till 1 hour waiting on a normal working day morning some days ago), free wifi that continuously disconnects, etc.. The airport is modern concept but what matters if it doesn’t properly work efficiently?
        • It a clean airport with decent service. Don't plan on eating there as everything is expensive - not a surprise being an airport. We were there early and didn't wait long in security lines.
        • Absolute nightmare airport. It's not even the apparent teams of pick pockets who roam this airport unencumbered by security or police that really sickened me. It was the belligerent, ignorant response from all of the 30 or so airport service staff after I had informed them my debit card and duty free purchases of over €100 were stolen, and could they please direct me to a lost & found desk/ customer support desk, so I could check if my wallet was discarded/handed in, after nothing of value was in the wallet. No. I set the bar too high. I arrived at my destination 2 hours late, at 1am, in a city without the price a bus fare to get to my city center hotel. It seems all airport staff are sent on a course on how to be the most obnoxious, unhelpful, integrity free soft lumps they can possibly be. The police on;y seem to be present to let you know how they don't give a flying monkeys about your stolen property, but you'll need to file a report with them about the theft, which will probably mean you will miss your flight, on top of everything else. I loved my stay in the city and met some wonderful people there, but I hope I never see this airport ever again... minus 5 stars....
        • I arrived at 11pm from Los Angeles via London and had a connecting flight at 6:55am. Pre check in it was not a decent place where to eat. The two places open had only fridge food nothing decent to eat. Once I was able to check in, I found only one place open to eat, Dehesa Santa Maria. The place was filthy, all tables where cover with the trays, plates and cups from previous customers. Honestly, people traveling to Spain come from other countries witg different time zones. AM hours may not be Spanish eating time but for those of us coming from abroad AM is PM. Also, what it shocked me the most is not having places to charge phones. People had to sit in the floor looking for outlets meant for vending machines or like. Nice modern expensive airport but poor service. Any major airport in the world these days has phone charging stations.
        • This airport is clean and quick. My wife and I got our bags and walked through customs easily. No paper or form to fill out before landing either. Next to the ATM they have a touch screen computer that predicts what a taxi ride will cost you from the terminal to your destination. What a great idea and help. Our taxi fare ended up being about 1 or 2 euros less than what it was estimated to be. Catching a taxi was quick with virtually no wait and getting out of the airport was a breeze. What a nice change from LAX.
        • Barcelona–El Prat Airport is a clean and hygienic environment. It offers great prices on duty free products. Great variety of food and beverages. Easy to navigate to find toilets etc. Staff are helpful and friendly. Overall a great airport to travel to and from.
        • There is a train from the airport that will take you to different stations in Barcelona and you can make further connections. There is a kiosk machine where you can buy a ticket for 10 rides for only €10.30. This ticket can be shared with other people travelling together with you. The machine does accept credit cards. The machine will dispense the ticket at the bottom of the machine, so make sure you will watch for the ticket to come out of the machine. The train takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour, and it is the best option. Barcelona is a big city and you can be stuck in traffic if taking a taxi. Please remember you are in Spain and the Spaniards are not obligated to speak a different language. Most of the aiport staff speak English, but no guarantees.
        • Worst airport I have ever experienced. My husband and I have traveled all over (France UK Italy US Caribbean) and never have encountered a more disorganized mess of an airport. Baggage check took 45 minutes, there are no electronic kiosks to check in. Security and international passport check took over an hour because there is no control over the crowd of people trying to get to their gates. Just one mass of about 300 people funneling towards a tiny entrance. NOTE: if you are going to terminal D and E there is ONE food option. The line will be very long, expensive, food quality poor and you will look down on terminal ABC with all of the restaurants/shops and be told you don’t have access. Climate control is awlful very hot. I would give this place a zero if I could. Absolute worst service and setup for an airport. Also no seats at the gate so have fun standing around. Can’t imagine this place in the summer. Get organized please and revisit your layout design Barcelona. If you have the awful luck of going through this airport get here early and be prepared to be disappointed at every turn.
        • When you arrive, u need to collect your luggage at a certain area, but no one inform you about that. If you go out through the wrong one-way door, I'm not sure u could come back somehow and collect your belongings. For departure: No communication on boarding time through speakers. Eating here is not really an option, you have just few shops. I tried to go to Camden co.but people there don't speak English and are rudes, that's why we ended up having our lunch at the only fast food, the burger king. A bad airport in one of the most overrated city in Europe. Never more!
        • This airport's architecture and design is B&B. Bland and Boring!! I took the train from Barcelona Sants and got off at the airport. But there wasn't proper signage to indicate that Terminal 1 is a whole other campus, on the opposite side of the world. One has to catch a bus from T2, and this is a good 15 minute ride from where the train drops you off. Nothing special though.
Beware that a special ticket to and from the airport is required, the T10 is not valid *(best transport pass for the city). The public transportation (metro) assistant was extremely friendly, patient and helpful. *Update: Dec 2017 - Actually in my second time visiting Barcelona, I actually found a better way into the city, right to Plaça Catalunya. Out of the airport, lower level, there’s a bus for which one can purchase 1 or 2 way tickets, and a lot less hassle. It’s actually a nice ride and less expensive.
        • Clean and hygienic. Really easy access to everything and not badly priced. The staff are helpful and make everything super easy. Signs are everywhere so you can’t miss a thing. Great place.
        • The airport was nice, getting to customs there was very easy. There was a bus on the lower level that would take you to the city center. You can catch a cab if you had a hotel there or if you had people there that you knew they could come there on the train and pick you up. It was very easy everything was connected to the airport. However one of my friend had very bad experience, so ritually depend on how you're treated with the staff at particular time and point.
        • Newly upgraded with little thinking of the modern world. 1. All the shops are before passport control. Once you go through passport control there is little shopping to do. All the main shops are before your go through passport control 2. Our flight was delayed (not the airports fault I agree) but NOTHING was announced on the tannoy or the screens. Our airline website told us about the delay. 3. All charge points have 2 plugs but if one person has a plug point in use with a universal charger, you then can’t use the other point. Again not thinking of modern world with international travellers who use phones and tablets.
        • Big and clean airport with plenty of natural light, but poorly managed. If you love bread, this is the airport for you! There are no real restaurants, but 5 places selling cold, packaged sandwiches, and one selling pizza... slowly. They heat each piece of pizza as it is ordered, so the line moves at a snail's pace. I only managed to get pizza here because my connecting flight was delayed an hour. Also, no place to charge your phone or laptop. This is your chance to meditate over a cold sandwich without getting disturbed by work or social media.
        • Flew into Terminal 2 and out of Terminal 1. Very tidy airport. Very helpful staff and signs directing you around the terminals. The bus service is very frequent between the terminals but was very crowded. Plenty of seating are and lots of shops. Good view of aircraft.
        • Modern, clean airport. To catch a flight its pretty easy & smooth although Ryan Air waiting area can get real crowded. But at arrivals it's difficult to negotiate your way the baggage reclaim or exit. It could be better sign posted at crucial points rather than leaving it to the passenger to find the signs.Public transport too and from airport is good either by bus or metro. By car it's difficult to find a drop off point so you have to end up parking in the paid car park.
The stewardesses behaved contemptuously. We had an organized queue and they just staggered the line and yelled at us that because we were in Israel our queue looked like this and "Let's see how it looks in the rest of Europe." After we reached the queue itself, the stewardess began shouting at people standing in line while we stood in an orderly fashion. Then came the security check that my mother had passed through with bracelets and therefore a poplar - the security woman told her that it was because of the bracelets and she still put them in front of everyone, putting gloves on, and sort of "stripping" her in front of everyone. To the level of touch in the underwear. The shops at Dutyy were all over again and the cleaning was simply not there. The signs are all in Spanish and anyone who does not speak Spanish can not understand anything and the people there do not speak clear English.
        • This airport is efficient for a large, busy airport. The line through the security checkpoint moves rather quick. There is good shopping and nice restaurant choices. I love to walk and outside of concourse B there are no crowds. The airport is clean and modern. I would like to see a few improvements such as a better layout after security accessing the various concourses, luggage wait times are too long, the airport is a little hot and stuffy ( kudos that there are sizeable outdoor courtuards) and there is no train to the city center.
        • No chance to come to the Victoria secret store when your gate isn’t W or Y (T2). The variety of shops could be better. No smoking area or possibility to go out for fresh air. Partly friendly and helpful staff.
        • We came through this airport on the way back to England, overall the facilities once you get past security are not amazing. The big downside to this airport is it is very spaced out so the shops are group by the gates so if you are waiting a few hours for a flight you may get a little bored. The cleanliness of this airport I would have to give 10 stars, I have never seen such a spotless and clean airport and definitely would give kudos to the cleaning staff of this airport. As airports goes this is an ok airport and was quite relaxing overall as it is quite a quiet airport so as you are awaiting flight it is good to sit in quiet.
        • I used this airport in multiple occasions both as a passenger and to pick up persons. I find it to be very convenient, clean, good service and very helpful employees. Even on critical touch points such as the security check, people were very helpful and process was very fast and dynamic. I don't have anything bad to say about this airport.
        • The worst airport experience of my life. Avoid flying from here. The staff are few and far between and the ones that are there are unhelpful at best. This airport is a minefield to navigate and nobody will help you. We got ushered through passport control by an elusive staff member to then discover that we had missed all the shops/restaurants. We were told that we could not go back through, and that they were not for international flights. We were made to feel like worthless foreigners to be honest. What a joke. Do they not want to make money off people? How does it make business sense? It certainly isn't done with customer service in mind... they do not care about that!
        • Overall it is nice modern airport and not so crowded. Check-in & out are easy for European passports. But lacks of clear sign and directions for public transport, you have to keep asking people all the way, staffs are kind but most of them don't speak English. It took me a lot of time to find the connecting bus from T1-T2. The walk way from the terminal building to the railway is very long. Ticket office doesn't accept any credit card, only cash. I had to figure out to buy the ticket from the machine which only works in Spanish. For this reason I miss the train. After I left from the airport, I still have to keep asking for next change. I use to travel a lot in Europe, but I am lost and feel like an idiot here.
        • I am a business consultant, and I can tell you this airport is geared to skim all money from you. There is no drinking fountains at all within the international gates after you pass customs. Water here cost 3 euros for a medium sized bottle. If you bring a bottle, make sure to fill up before passport control! Also, if you did tax free shipping, note that the refund offices Caixia will take a 33% commission on your refund! I had $120 euro refund and to avoid exchange fees I asked for the refund in euros. It came out to $84. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Don’t give this company business. Mail your stamped VAT refund requests and get refunded on your credit card on your bank exchange rates. One thing I will give the airport, it’s spacious and clean. Great building.
        • The airport is quite clean. The security checks was about 20 mins. The gates are quite spread out. There is good variety of shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The airport has got big car park and there is plenty of cabs available on arrival. I would recommend flying to and from Barcelona airport.
