• TRYP Barcelona Aeropuerto
  Probably the closest hotel to Barcelona Airport. You could probably walk it to either terminal - watch out for the sweltering sun in the summer though! Besides there is a free shuttle bus. There is un-metered parking around, but as usual with Spain this is often hard to come by. You might have more luck in the night, or are prepared to walk a little way.

  Some reviews say this is not a good station, but we found it the opposite. The station is well laid out, clean, plenty of signs, information boards and screens. We had already booked our tickets in advance and printed them off. The tickets tell you the train number and departure time, which are clearly displayed on the information boards giving you the platform number. Getting to your train could not be easier.

  Poor staff, knows nothing. Had to rush across multiple counters to just know which train to take. Home of thieves, my friend's rucksack got stolen in a minute we stepped at the bus station in front of the train station.

  Don't let the rude and abrupt staff working at this station turn you off train travel in Spain. The station is fairly large and has plenty of places for a snack before you travel including a place for Jamon. Fast speed trains are a wonderful way to travel in Europe, spacious, on time and very quick! Pre-book online your ticket for a discount, tickets open up around 90 days before travel.

  Had a very bad experience during the 25 and 26 december holidays to book a ticket to paris for 27 december. The counters did not accept advanced reservations so I was asked to use the automatic ticket machine. Got 'help' from a staff who was supposed to help with the machine. The machine was out of order for two days in a row . There was no solution for this and staff did not show any empathy. Service culture seems unknown here.

  The way the station is distributed makes it very easy to find your way around. Having so many local buses , trains and the metro passing through here makes is great for catching you long distance train on time. It's a shame one has to pay to use the bathroom.

  Easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport (You can use your T-10, so it's basically €1) and trains are fairly frequent (the journey is about 25 minutes). Also, obviously, many more destinations, and tickets are fairly easy to buy at machines. Just don't accept help from randoms who may come up to you, as they may then ask for money in return afterwards!

  Terrible bus stop beside the station, no security and poorly maintained. The bus luggage storage, when opened, are not supervised, leaving it to chance of robbery. In my last trip someone tried to rob my luggage when I arrived. Do not take too long to get out of your bus, otherwise your luggage could be stollen. Spotted the same guy in Barcelona Nord station four days later, the thief looks like a traveller, many times using a backpack or a large luggage.

  Easy station if taking the Renfe AVE. waiting area (passed security) is easy to navigate and clean.

  Wouldn't let us on the train even though were on time. Many roads were closed outside of the station due to a marathon, turning a 30 min trip into a 90 min one. They would not awknowledge this and made us pay for new tickets (140€) with no discount, even though we had tickets for the prior train.

  Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a sim card here. I just got scammed in some weird tiny store next to the metro, where some three teenage boys sell these prepaid cards. they have a piece of paper with the prices, and conveniently cover up the top of the sheet where it says that the sim card itself costs15€. Then they told us that "now they're activated" so they can't do anything. I'm sure they pull this number with all tourists.

  Clean and welcoming atmosphere. The drop of a star is because the staff is pretty rude, even if you are asking a very simple question. Otherwise amenities (for standard or 'preferente') are abundant and easily accessible.

  Clean, clear signalisation, easy access (from both sides, unlike what Google Maps shows) at the Barcelona Sants train & metro station. If travelling in high-speed train, be prepared to go through a baggage scan & passport control (both efficient).

  Clean, fast, and on time. The trains in Europe are amazing. No need for a car rental. Take the train and take uber everyone you need to go.

  Very chaotic and I was simply barked at and sent off without help by a member of the "adif" desk staff. Not a good experience to say the least.

  V busy and confusing layout. Give yourself time to figure it out and beware there is airport type security before access to the high speed trains, allow time for this (Qs move quickly). Also worth figuring out in advance city transport to / from your destination- easy to take the slow route. If taking a day trip from the city worth seeing if your train starts/terminates in Estacion de Francia- Might have much easier bus/metro connections depending on where you are

  I am basing my review on our trip from Barcelona Sants to Madrid Atocha in June of this year. We had taken an early morning train from Paris with a final destination of Madrid to meet up with the rest of our Family. The seating was a lot better in this second leg of the trip being first class. Much more comfortable. I can understand people's frustration with staff being rude. My Husband does not speak Spanish and our lady server basically got offended that he was quiet during her service. After I explained this to her, she said, in Spanish that he should speak up or else I cannot read his mind. I did not validate that with a rude remark and instead told her what my Husband needed. I refuse to let anyone ruin my day much less my vacation. I am of Spanish heritage so I can say this, other countries adapt by requiring staff to speak English to reach their global customers, Spain needs to get with the program. We were pleasantly surprised with the non meat lunch option we got since we do not eat meat.

  First time being in Barcelona and have to admit that this very station confused me a lot. Departure times are very inaccurate and to find out what station the train goes through is next to impossible. Be there plenty of time in advance! On the other side the station is very tidy and kept spotless.

  One of the main train stations in the city, easy to switch from metro to train, everything's quick. Avoid buying water/snacks on the station, its exaggeratedly expensive. 2 bottles + 2 croissants for almost 12 euros.

  Staff knowledge is abysmal and the level of English is next to nothing. Left delayed, movie in turista plus was in Spanish with Spanish subtitles...

  Don't speak or understand English. Very frustrating when you get on wrong train and have to come back to Barcelona. Even Spanish people don't understand 😭 one American girl got walked away with security guards til she calmed down. That is how FRUSTRATING it is. Put a smile on your face's and learn an extra language please. P.s. No toilets on platforms or train's is bloody absurd. Had to wait 2 hours for a Blinky pee 😡😢 I should of pissed in the bottle, cos it hurt my bladder 😕😣 Never again visit Barcelona plus their graffiti.

  Nice well kept train station plus Hotel on top of the station building. Barcelona Sants is the main railway station in Barcelona, owned by Adif, the railway infrastructure agency of Spain. It has become the Catalan capital's most important transport hub - being the centre of Rodalies de Catalunya including Barcelona suburban railway services and regional services, as well as the main inter-city station for national and international destinations. The station is named after Sants, the neighbourhood of Barcelona in which it is located. New parts of the station have recently been remodeled to accommodate the Spanish high-speed trainAVE in the city, which started serving the city on 20 February 2008. There is also an adjacent international bus station bearing the same name, and a link to the Sants Estació metro station that serves the railway station.

  One of the worst travelling experiences. The station is chaotic, the signs non-existent and the staff rude. Our luggage was damaged during security checks and some of our money was lost in the x-ray machine. We arrived 30 minutes ahead of departure of our train bound for Paris and were within two minutes of missing it due to the tardiness of the ticket controls that allow passengers to the platforms. I would recommend arriving at least an hour before departure. And - less importantly - Barcelona Sants is incredibly ugly.

  Stupid train station that lacks proper signage and information. We were supposed to board a 9.30am train to Valencia and were at the station at 9am. We boarded the train at exactly 9.30am for Valencia and once halfway we realized we were on the wrong, slower train that takes 5 hrs and not the 3hr one we paid for. However, the 3hr one was never displayed at the station and there was nothing to imply there were 2 trains for the same destination, at the same time to begin with!!! So we paid double and still ended up reaching Valencia 2 hrs later... Very very frustrating...

  I found the staff helpful in terms of directions. The airport lacks sufficient signage in English. Also the toilets are not free and only thing we could make out from the language written outside the toilet was that its paid.

  Train station is very neat and clean , it looks like airport, big waiting area. It was great experience to travel through this station.

  The kiosks were very easy to use and also able to buy ticket ahead of time for high speed train. Functions similar to an airport with heavy traffic and security, lots of shops and food options.

  Didn't have any problems here, and speak no Spanish. Bought & printed our tickets at home, arrived early, paid 5 euros for 2 cafes con leche & 2 croissants in their cafeteria, then checked their departures board for the platform #. All the info was on the ticket. We were on a 9:30 train for Valencia. There was a 9:00 train leaving for Valencia from the same platform, but it had a different train #, so knew it wasn't ours. Our train started boarding at 9:15 & left on time. Dining car and snack bar on the train in the first 2 cars.

  Nice clean station. Connects with Renfe high speed trains and local metro. The access to toilets are 1 euro. (-1 star) Renfe trains are cool!

  Renfe to Madrid. People were so nice to offer help with getting the luggages on the train. The wait at the station wasn't bad either, nice cafeteria-style eatery, donut-pastry shop while you wait.

  Barcelona's main train station, from here you can book your train journey to many destinations, including what is close to Barcelona such as Airport Area, Girona, Manresa, Sabadell, or Mataro. As far away as Madrid, Valencia or Seville. Also from this station there are trains outside of Spain to France . This station serves a number of metro lines and the AVE express train.

  Its a smaller station and seems to be kept clean. My main problem is how distant and uncaring the staff is. In trying to find our departure gate two seperate employees snapped an answer at me and walked off. The ticket office was the same way, rude and impatient if you ask follow up questions. None of the employess make eye contact with you...a smile would be way too much to ask. The people I dealt with seemed to have major attitude problems.

  If you can use the other train station, estaçion Francis, do. I had a terrible experience at this station. Our train broke down in the tunnel and we had to be escorted out by firemen. When we arrived back at the station no one would give us any information about what to do next. They wouldn't tell us when the next train would depart, if there would be another train that day, if there was any other way to get to our destination other than by train, or give us a refund. There also was no staff who spoke English. All in all we waited for two hours for a train which was supposed to depart every 15 minutes. without a single apology from anyone. When I would ask for help the staff was either rude or just ignored me entirely.

  Me ha tocado vivir algo inaudito. Me acerco Al personal de seguridad y digo 'disculpe la via para el aeropuerto? Disculpe disculpe el aeropuerto?' Me dice qué no me atiende si no saludo. Le he digo qué se lo he pedido con education y tiene el valor de decir que he dicho disculpe al final y no al principio y qué soy una maleducada! Subrealista cuando te estan tratando con esa pasivoagresividad, con tanto desprecio y con suerte, ya que si te podia ignorar mejor para el segun parecia. El primer argentino que me cruzo sin ninguna habilidad social. No estamos para pagar los problemas aiditivos de nadie... Qué panorama!

  Spent 3 hours here and it is a decent train station. It is limited to only a handful of eateries, the main ones being Mcdonald’s and ‘Como’. Also the layout is rather confusing and everyone seems to get different tickets of all shapes and sizes, even for the same train?

  Very smooth experience if you’ve booked and printed your tickets ahead of time. Look for your train on the board, head to the platform for your train, clear security, (wait a bit if you’re early) and go to your platform.

  I asked for help as to where my train was going to be since it was my first time here. I asked a lady for directions. I understood her in Spanish, but I guess since I was carrying a large suitcase she assumed I was an American pretending to understand. I don't know. She was very friendly. She took one of my suitcases for me & walked me to where I needed to be. She was great. All the staff I met was great, except one. My bag accidentally banged up against her desk. Nothing moved nothing bad happened, but she still have me a really mean dirty look slammed my ticket on the desk and didn't even look at me or say anything. As someone who works in hospitality, I was appalled at her actions. Even when you don't want to be happy if nice, if you work with people you have to try your best to always be nice no matter how you feel that day. It was quite rude & unwelcoming. Everyone else was great.

  I have never been treated quite so rudely at a train station. We had been given the wrong date on our tickets (I admit, our fault for not checking). When trying to rectify the mistake at the ticket desk the server next to the person handling us was openly rude and aggressive saying “idiots you can see the wrong date” and gesturing rudely at us. We weren’t even being served by him. It’s bad enough feeling like you might be stuck in a foreign country for the night due to a mistake without aggressive behaviour from the person you are asking for help from. Appalling and I hope that servers children never get treated like that whilst travelling and exploring a different European country.

  Well situaded and good comunication with differents parts of Barcelona. A lot of shops and bars. Only problem for me is that it should pay to go to the toalet.
