Makati came from the Tagalog word kati, which means tide. This primarily refers to the rise and ebb of the tide of the Pasig River on the city's northern border. The city was also known as San Pedro Macati during the Spanish era.

Quezon City
It is the former capital the Philippines and has large number of population. Situated on the island of Luzon is also known by Filipinos as simply QC and is one of the municipalities and cities that build up Metro Manila. Metro Manila is the National Capital Region. The people here named the city in reference to the former president of the commonwealth named Manuel L. Quezon who discovered the city and build up it to take the place of Manila as the country’s capital.
Being the former capital of Philippines, the city has many government offices such as the seat of the House of Representatives, Batasang Pambansa that is the lower chamber in the country’s congress. The two main important and high ranked universities, the University of the Philippines and the Atendo de Manila University are located in the city.
It may not be known to all, but Quezon City is an initial district regime in the region with a mechanized property appraisal and disbursement structure. This city also holds the country's largest broadcasting networks known to Philippines.
